Legacy modernisation for Australian organisations

Your old system, rebuilt in weeks, proven by tests before it goes live.

Thisys Technologies rebuilds business software that has outgrown its code. AI writes much of the new code. Experienced engineers decide what gets built, review every change and stay accountable for the result. Each rebuild ships with a full automated test suite, an independent validation and a rehearsed data migration.

We did it to our own platform first

SurveyFace to Thisys: a decade-old PHP platform, rebuilt and migrated

Before offering this to anyone else, we used the method on our own survey platform. The old system was tied to PHP 5, which stopped receiving security updates at the end of 2018, and it had no automated tests at all.

Who we help

A system your business depends on, and nobody wants to touch

We work with Australian organisations whose core software is old, fragile or unsupported, and where a traditional rewrite was quoted too high or too slow.

Old PHP, out of support

Business applications written in older PHP, often with MySQL, running on versions and libraries that no longer get security patches. It is the stack we rebuilt our own platform from.

Knowledge walking out the door

The people who built it have moved on. Changes are slow, risky and depend on one or two people who remember how it works.

A rewrite you could not justify

You have a quote for a multi-year rewrite. We start with a fixed-fee assessment, then quote the rebuild as a fixed price.

How we work

Six stages, each with something you can check

You never pay for a big-bang switchover on trust. Every stage ends with evidence: a report, a working pilot, a passing test suite or a reconciled migration.

  1. Assess

We read the code, the database and how people really use the system, then give you a written plan and a fixed price.

  2. Pilot

We rebuild one meaningful slice end to end, so you can judge the quality before you commit to the rest.

  3. Rebuild with tests

The full rebuild, with unit and browser tests written alongside the code and run on every change.

  4. Parallel run

Old and new systems run side by side on real work, so differences show up before anyone depends on the new one.

  5. Rehearse the migration

We move a full copy of your data, reconcile every count and repeat until it is boring.

  6. Cut over

A planned, timed switchover with a rollback plan, then hands-on support while your people settle in.

Quality and AI governance

AI does the typing. People stay accountable.

AI lets a small senior team deliver what used to take a large one. It does not replace judgement. Every change is reviewed by an engineer, covered by tests and checked by an independent validation before release.

How we govern AI and protect your data
  • Automated unit and browser tests ship with the code, and you own them.
  • An independent, scored validation before every release. Problems it finds are fixed and re-checked before go-live.
  • Your code and data are not used to train AI models: we use AI only under commercial terms that rule it out.
  • Australia-only delivery on request: code, data, people and AI services kept in Australia.
  • You own the code, the tests and the documentation, as each invoice is paid.

Find out what a rebuild would take

A fixed-fee assessment gives you a written plan, the risks and a fixed price for the rebuild. You decide afterwards whether to go ahead, with us or anyone else.
